The beloved Village Feast returns for its 17th year on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 3:00–6:00 PM in Souris, Prince Edward Island. Hosted by Chef Michael Smith, The Inn at Bay Fortune Brigade and friends, this epic community celebration brings together 500 guests for an old-fashioned steak dinner, a lobster boil, and a showcase of local food, served with a side of live entertainment and family fun. Proceeds from this year’s event will fully support breakfast programs at Souris Regional School and École La-Belle-Cloche, helping ensure local children start their day with a nutritious meal. In partnership with Farmers Helping Farmers, the Village Feast will also continue funding school cookhouses in Meru County, Kenya, with proceeds supporting the salaries of gardeners who grow food for these essential kitchens. In 2024, the Village Feast raised $22,000 for Island-based food programs and an additional $7,000 for Kenyan school gardens. Over the years, the event has supported initiatives including Coats for Kids, the Souris Food Bank, Souris Community Fridge, and the PEI School Food Program. Thanks to these efforts and the ongoing partnership with Farmers Helping Farmers, more than 6 million meals have been served through Village Feast-funded cookhouses in Kenya, feeding 6,000 children daily across 23 schools. Led by Chef Michael Smith, the Inn at Bay Fortune Fire Brigade, guest chefs, and volunteers, the feast will feature 100% local ingredients. The menu includes Oysters, shellfish chowder, steak, lobster, Culinary Farm salad, fresh bread, and strawberry rhubarb shortcake.
