PEI’s MLAs are getting a pay raise, starting April 1st.
The Indemnities and Allowances Commission decided on a 1.5 per cent increase to the base salary for M-L-As.
It also approved additional salary top-ups most receive for roles they play in the legislature and cabinet.
Base pay for M-L-As will rise to $72,500, while cabinet ministers and Opposition Leader James Aylward will be paid just over $123,000 and Premier Wade MacLauchlan will make $151,300.
