The RCMP says police have established that members of the PEI Woodbridge Hells Angels hangaround club have been promoted to “Prospect” status with the Hells Angels.
As a result of some surveillance, police have seen a couple members of the club wearing a “PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND” bottom rocker on the back of their vest, and a “PROSPECT” patch and “CHARLOTTETOWN” chapter patch on the front of their vest.
They say it means that the Hells Angels now have a “Prospect” chapter in Prince Edward Island, and the next step forward for the group will be to obtain their status as full patch members of the Hells Angels.
Police say this is a concerning and significant development for Prince Edward Island. The RCMP says the Hells Angels have a long history of violence and drug trafficking in Canada and have been declared a criminal organization by the courts in the past.
Police in PEI have conducted a number of enforcement actions against this group since April 2017 and will continue to closely monitor their activities and take action when they can.
