During National Teen Driver Safety Week recently, Queens District RCMP worked in partnership with PEI Highway Safety in running education and enforcement checkpoints.
One such education checkpoint was set up outside Bluefield High School where officers distributed information packages to raise awareness of drug-impaired driving, with cannabis being the most commonly found in young driver fatalities.
On the enforcement side of the initiative, there were 66 Provincial Summary Offence Tickets written within Queens District for a variety of offences.
