Authorities investigating death of woman found in bottom of elevator shaft in Charlottetown building

The death of a 76-year-old woman is being investigated after she was found dead in the bottom of an elevator shaft of an apartment building in Charlottetown.  Charlottetown Police responded to the building on June 27th and discovered the body of the woman in the elevator shaft.  Police believe the woman had likely been dead for more than a couple of days before she was found.  Investigators have found no evidence of any criminality.  The Department of Justice and Public Safety says the coroner’s office has been notified and the investigation is continuing.
