St. Louis, PEI native Abby Hustler made history last night. She became the first Islander to ever be drafted into the Professional Women’s Hockey League. In the League’s Entry Draft last night, Abby was drafted 14th overall by the Minnesota Frost. Abby is a 22-year old forward and tallied 19 goals and 20 assists at St Lawrence University in the NCAA this past season.
In the New Brunswick Senior Baseball League, the Charlottetown Islanders lost 9-6 to the Chatham Ironmen on Tuesday night.
The Prince County Horsemen’s Club and Red Shores at Summerside Raceway had to postpone Tuesday night’s live card of harness racing because of the heat and thunderstorms that were in the forecast. That card has been rescheduled for Wednesday with a post time of 6pm.
