Charlottetown Police Chief Brad MacConnell, who is moving into the role of Charlottetown’s Chief Administrative Officer, has appointed Deputy Chief Jennifer McCarron as interim Chief of Charlottetown Police Services. The appointment takes effect June 16th, which is when MacConnell officially moves into his new position. McCarron has been with Charlottetown Police Services for over 30 years and has been Deputy Chief since April 2021. In her current role, McCarron supervises the major crime, street crime, bylaw, property and identification units. She is the first woman in the department’s history to hold both the Deputy Chief and Chief positions. The competition for a permanent Police Chief will be launched in the coming weeks.
