Canadian auto parts headed south of the border are getting a reprieve from the U-S and will not be tariffed as originally planned.
New guidelines released by U-S Customs and Border Protection today say automobile parts compliant with the Canada-U-S-Mexico Agreement on trade will be exempt.
Twenty-five per cent auto part import duties were supposed to go into place on Saturday..
The move comes just days after U-S President Donald Trump signed an executive order giving temporary relief to an automotive industry besieged by multiple tariffs.
