In Court in Georgetown on Thursday, a 61-year old man was given a $750 fine and 10-year weapons prohibition after entering a guilty plea to unsafe storage of a firearm, in a case that’s connected to the December 2023 shooting death of 17-year old Tyson MacDonald. The man cannot be named due to a publication ban. Thursday’s sentence followed a joint recommendation from the Crown and defence.
