Charlottetown Police say their E-watch surveillance system proved to be very beneficial in their investigation of a string of incidents this week for which a suspect has been arrested and charged.
Police turned to E-watch surveillance video after a call Monday about a theft on Grafton Street, and were able to identify the suspect and then find him with the help of the cameras. After a brief struggle he was arrested and charged with theft under $5000, resist arrest and breach of probation. He was later released from custody. Less than 24 hours later, Police responded to an incident on a sidewalk on Queen Street. Police say the incident was captured on E-Watch and they again were able to track what turned out to be the same man who was arrested in the theft on Monday. On Tuesday he was charged with mischief under $5000, causing a disturbance and breach of probation.
