This is Small Business Week — a campaign aimed at recognizing small businesses and the contributions that they make to local communities and our economy.
Small businesses in Canada are defined as organizations having 99 employees or fewer.
The Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce says there are over 6,200 small businesses in PEI. They account for 98.4% of all businesses in the province. In fact, PEI has the highest proportion of small business jobs in the country.
One highlight of Small Business Week is the Biz 2 Biz Expo, set for 10am to 4pm Thursday at Eastlink Centre.
