Former Summerside Councillor pleads guilty to theft over $5000

A guilty plea in Summerside provincial court on Wednesday by former Summerside city councillor Barb Gallant to a charge of theft over $5,000.  A charge of Fraud under $5000 was stayed.  Gallant had been charged earlier this year in regards to money that was stolen from the Lest We Forget veterans group.  Gallant was serving as executive director of the group.  A sentencing hearing will be held in November.
