Northumberland Ferries, which began service between Wood Islands and Caribou at the start of this month, says the MV Saaremaa 1 is due to arrive in Caribou as early as May 22nd. The MV Saaremaa has again been secured from its owners in Quebec, STQ, for service this season between PEI and Nova Scotia. The Saaremaa will be Northumberland Ferries’ second vessel on the route, until MV Fanafjord is ready to enter service. Once it arrives, the MV Saaremaa 1 will remain in Caribou as contingency relief for MV Confederation prior to actually entering daily service on June 16th. Anb arrival date for MV Fanafjord hasn’t been confirmed yet as it has to undergo a significant refit.
