The East Coast Music Association handed out 12 East Coast Music Awards at a Gala Thursday night in the Ballroom at the Delta Prince Edward. PEI’s The East Pointers, won Group Recording of the Year for Safe in Sound. The Songwriter of the Year Award went to Islander Jenn Grant. Other highlights included African Canadian Artist of the Year going to Maggie Andrew; Neon dreams winning Album of the Year; Derina Harvey Band from Newfoundland winning the TD Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the Year; Morgan Toney winning Indigenous Artist of the Year; and the Director’s Special Achievement Award being presented posthumously to Bruce Guthro.
