Saturday is setting day along the south shore as the spring lobster fishing season opens in LFA 26A, which stretches from Souris to Victoria by the Sea. Fishers head out at 6:00am on Saturday to set their traps. The season was originally to open on Friday, but the start was delayed due to poor conditions, specifically wave levels.
Meanwhile, DFO will hold a weather call Saturday morning in regards to Monday’s scheduled opening of the lobster fishing season in LFA 24 along the north shore. Representatives from Environment Canada will be on the call providing an updated forecast for Monday.
