At the Don Johnson Cup in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, the Kensington Vipers blanked the St. John’s Caps 4-0 on Thursday. The Vipers sit second in the standing with a record of 2 wins and 1 loss, and face the Antigonish Bulldogs Friday.
The Charlottetown Islanders and top goalie prospect Donald Hickey have officially agreed on a contract.
Hickey, who’s from Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador was originally selected by the Islanders in the fourth round, 63rd overall in the 2022 QMJHL Entry Draft.
He will report to Islanders training camp in August.
The Holland Hurricanes have named Tyler Johnston of Cardigan the new head coach for the baseball program, beginning immediately. Johnston replaces the outgoing, Andrew MacNevin, who served in the position since 2013.
