There is no stopping the Summerside Western Capitals who won their 12th straight game, 4-3 in Campbellton over the Tigers in the MHL. Nolan Stewart scored the game winner with just over 7 minutes left. William Irvine added a goal and two assists. The Caps are a league best 15-1-4 and haven’t lost since October 13th.
The UNB Reds are 15-0 in the AUS dropping the UPEI Panthers, 6-1. Justin Nolet and Cole MacKay scored twice each for the Reds. Alex De Gagne had the only UPEI goal. UNB outshot UPEI, 41-15. They’ve outscored the Panthers, 15-1 in three wins over UPEI this season.
The women’s Panthers lost 2-1 at Mount Allison in a shootout. Sophie Bujold had the Panther goal. The Mounties win their first game of the season after 13 straight losses. UPEI is 4-10-1. Chelsea Krahenbil scored the shootout winner.
Detroit stunned the Boston Bruins, 5-2 in the NHL. The Red Wings are the only team to beat Boston in regulation time this season, twice. Boston is 14-2-3. Alex DeBrincat and J.T. Compher both had a goal and assist for the Wings.
Toronto led, 3-1 but wound up losing 4-3 in overtime in Chicago. Jason Dickson scored three times for the Blackhawks. Kevin Korchinski got the winner.
Edmonton blanked Washington, 5-0. Stuart Skinner made 25 saves. Leon Draisaitl had two goals and Connor McDavid had four assists.
Montreal got by San Jose, 3-2 in a shootout. Jesse Ylonen got the winner.
The New York Islanders over Ottawa, 5-3. Noah Dobson got his 11th assist this season.
Calgary stopped Dallas, 7-4.
Vancouver over Seattle, 5-1.
Winnipeg shutout Florida, 3-0.
Toronto eliminated Chicago in the NBA in-season tournament, downing the Bulls, 121-108. O.G. Anunoby had 26 points.
Miami improved to 8-3 in the NFL with a 34-13 win over the NY Jets in the NFL’s first Black Friday game.
