
Kaleb Pearson scores his 5th goal in two games but UPEI lost 6-3 to St. FX
The Philadelphia Phillies are a win away from the World Series after a 6-1 win over the Arizona D-Backs Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber and J.T. Realmuto all homered. Zack Wheeler got his 3rd postseason win going 7 innings and striking out 8. The Phillies lead the NLCS, 3-2 going to Game 6 at Veteran’s Stadium.
St. FX ended a four game losing streak with a 6-3 win over the UPEI Panthers in AUS men’s hockey. Jacob Hudson scored three times. Kaleb Pearson got his 5th goal in two nights in the loss.
UPEI got by Mount A, 2-1 in the women’s game in overtime on a goal by Anjali Simms. UPEI’s first win in five games.
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan doubled the Charlottetown Islanders, 4-2 in the Q. Michael Horth got his league leading 12th goal for the Isles.
Summerside got by Edmundston, 3-2 in the MHL. Robbie Rutledge and Blake Eastman among the goal scorers.
The Charlottetown Knights won 3-2 in Kensington in Major Under 18. Dawson Sharkey scored twice including the winner.
Toronto went to overtime and stopped Tampa Bay, 4-3 on a goal by John Tavares.
Montreal edged Washington, 3-2 in OT. Cole Caufield had the winner 47 seconds into OT.
Boston over Los Angeles, 4-2 with Brad Marchand scoring twice.
Holland College women had a 10-0 regular season in soccer blanking Mount St. Vincent, 1-0 on a late goal by Emily LePine.
The men Canes also won, 1-0 over the Mystics.
UPEI tied Dalhousie, 1-1 in women’s soccer and lost 1-0 to Dal in the men’s.
Acefortyfour Dome with Jason Hughes in the bike, won the Atlantic Aged Mares final in 1.56/2 at Red Shores in Charlottetown. Irish Ray won the Maritime Breeders 3 year old trotters in 2.00/4 for Marc Campbell.
On Today: Harness racing this afternoon with post time at 2.00 and a 14 dash card that had the Maritime Breeders 2 year old colts and fillies. Twin B Tuffenuff is the 5-2 favourite in the featured 14th race with Gilles Barrieau driving.
Summerside visits Grand Falls in Maritime Junior hockey this afternoon.
UPEI hosts Saint Mary’s in AUS women’s hockey at 4.00. The Panthers are 1-4 winning 3-2 in overtime facing Mt. A, yesterday.
Texas at Houston tonight in the ALCS with the Astros up 3-2 and another chance to go to the World Series again.
The NFL includes Buffalo at New England, the LA Chargers in Kansas City and tonight’s game has Miami at Philadelphia.
In the NHL, Boston at Anaheim and Calgary in Detroit.
Stratford’s Zack MacEwan reached a milestone scoring twice for the Bellville Senators in a 5-4 win over the Laval Rocket. That gives him 101 career points in the AHL.
