Charlottetown Police, Charlottetown Fire and Island EMS responded to a vehicle-pedestrian collision on St Peters Road shortly after 12:00pm on Friday. Police say that a man in a wheel chair, who was crossing at a marked cross walk, was struck by a pick up truck travelling north on St Peters Road. The man was taken to the QEH with serious injuries by Island EMS. The driver of the pick up truck was not injured, but was shaken by the incident. A Charlottetown Police Collision Reconstructionist has been assisting in the investigation. Drivers and pedestrians are reminded to be vigilant at crosswalks.
