The provincial government has appointed a trustee to run Murray River after four of its council members resigned.
Robert Hughes of Stratford will be the trustee for the eastern Kings municipality.
The province’s Municipal Government Act allows the government to appoint a trustee in cases where a council is no longer able to function.
The four council members’ resignation left the town without enough members to form a quorum, and no way to legally carry out civic business.
