The Las Vegas Golden Knights are just a win away from their first Stanley Cup. The Knights edged the Florida Panthers, 3-2 to take a 3-1 series lead. Game 5 is Tuesday night back in Vegas. Chandler Stephenson put the Knights ahead 2-0 and William Karlsson made it 3-0 in the second. The Panthers rallied for two goals but came up short. Several fights broke out at the end of the game in a skirmish around the Vegas goal crease.
The Toronto Blue Jays saw a 3-1 lead disappear in the 8th in a 9-4 loss to the Minnesota Twins. Carlos Correa hit a grand slam off reliever Adam Cimber and Max Kepler hit a three run shot off Mitch White as the bullpen collapsed. Toronto is 36-30.
Gleyber Torres and Willie Calhoun homered as the Yankees got by the Red Sox, 3-1.
Texas over Tampa Bay, 8-4. Corey Seager hit a two-run homer. Francisco Mejia had a three-run shot for the Rays.
Baltimore downed Kansas City, 6-1. Adam Frazier and Gunnar Henderson homered.
Atlanta has won 7 straight with a 6-4 win over Washington.
The Mets ended a 7 game losing skid with 5-1 win over Pittsburgh.
The Dodgers ended the Phillies 7 game win streak with a 9-0 shutout.
Arizona leads the NL West by 2.5 blanking Detroit, 5-0. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a three-run homer.
The Charlottetown Islanders are in first place in New Brunswick Senior baseball, sweeping the Saint John Alpines, 2-0 and 6-2. Brody MacDonald won the opener, firing a four hitter. Jordan Stevenson got the save. Scott Harper had two hits and an RBI.
Jake Beck followed in the second game with a four hitter. Dilln Doucette drove in three runs.
C.T. Pan of Taiwan leads the Canadian Open after three rounds firing a 66 on Saturday. He leads six others including two-time defending champion Rory McIroy by two, entering the final round. Canadian Nick Taylor of BC set course record 63 at the Oakdale Golf & Country Club.
Batterup Hanover won the Saturday night feature in 1.53/1 at Red Shores in Charlottetown with Truro, Nova Scotia driver Scott Langille behind.
Jason Hughes drove four winners on the card. Among his wins were Spicey P and Laughagain Hanover in 1.55/4.
David Dowling won the first three races.
Next race date is Tuesday night in Summerside.
Arcangelo with jockey Javier Castellano won the Belmont Stakes in New York. Jena Centonucci became the first female trainer to win in 155 years of the race.
