First of two minimum wage increases for PEI in 2023 took effect January 1st

The new year brought an increase in PEI’s minimum wage.  It increased by 80 cents on January 1st to $14.50 per hour. It was the first of two increases set for this year, as it will go up by 50 cents on October 1st to $15.00 per hour.  The Employment Standards Board reviews minimum wage annually and provides its recommendation to government after the review is complete.
