It’s a celebration weekend with lots of events going on across the Island.
In Charlottetown, the return of A Capital New Year at the waterfront all day Saturday from 11 until 8 this evening with entertainment, family events and fireworks at 8.00 to end 2022.
There is no admission charge.
The City of Charlottetown and Founders Food Hall and Market are presenting the event.

New Year’s Levees return for the first time since 2020, on Sunday at many government and municipal offices and local businesses.
Lt. Governor Antoinette Perry will hold a levee from 10-11.30 at Government House. You are asked to wear a mask.
Premier Dennis King will hold his levee at Confederation Centre from 3 to 4.30 on Sunday afternoon.
The City of Charlottetown will hold its meet and greet from 10.30 until noon at City Hall with Mayor Philip Brown and Council.
In Summerside, new Mayor Dan Kutcher and Council will hold their levee at City Hall from 1.30 to 3.00.
The Town of Stratford will hold a levee with Mayor Steve Ogden and Council from 12.00 to 1.30.
The Town of Cornwall will have its levee from 1.30 to 3.00 with Mayor Minerva McCourt and Council.
The Three Rivers levee goes on Sunday from 1.00 to 3.00 in Montague with Mayor Debbie Johnston and Council .
UPEI to hold its annual levee from 11.30 until 1.00 at the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering Building.
