A single vehicle crash in Pleasant Grove on Thursday claimed two lives – a 39-year-old man from Pleasant Grove and a 44-year-old man from Stratford. It happened at about 7:00pm on Route 220 in Pleasant Grove, and Queens District RCMP, North Shore Fire Department, and Island EMS all responded to the scene. Police say the crash is believed to have occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the road and collided with a tree. Police and emergency responders arrived to find the two occupants of the vehicle deceased. An RCMP collision reconstructionist and a member of the PEI Coroner’s office are assisting with the ongoing investigation. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
