Ryan Goins who’s been strong in the clutch, drove in Rob Refsnyder from second base in the 10th as the Toronto Blue Jays edged the Houston Astros, 4-3. Roberto Osuna got his 28th save.
Toronto remains 5 out in the wild card with seven teams ahead of them.
The Jays are 3-3 with Houston despite being out scored 56-28 in their season series.
The first place Boston Red Sox made it 5 straight wins with a 4-1 effort over Chicago. Andrew Benintendi and Jackie Bradley Jr. hit two-run homers. Drew Pomeranz won his 5th straight decision.
The Red Sox are 3 up on the Yankees who edged Cleveland, 2-1 on a Chase Headley home run in the 8th. Indians pitcher Danny Salazar had 12 strikeouts.
The Los Angeles Dodger used five home runs to drop the NY Mets, 7-4. That’s their 6th straight win over the Mets. The Dodgers have gone 43-7 since June 7th which is the best record over 50 games since the 1912 New York Giants. The Dodgers on pace for 114 to 115 wins.

The Charlottetown Islanders are suddenly hot with four straight wins in New Brunswick Senior baseball. The Isles swept the Alpines in Saint John winnning 11-5 in the first game. Jordan Stevenson improved to 7-3. Grant Grady homered.
The Islanders won the second game 6-3 behind the pitching of Brody MacDonald. Josh MacKinnon hit a home run and Jesse MacIntyre drove in three. Charlottetown now 12-18.

The Islanders blanked the Royals, 10-0 as Spencer Horne fired a four hit shutout but lost 4-3 in the second game.

Usain Bolt suffered his first final loss ever in the World Championship on Saturday. American Justin Gatlin finished the 100 metre final in 9.92 seconds. American Christian Coleman was second and Bolt was third in 9.95 seconds. The 30 year old Bolt retires with 3 world championships and 8 Olympic medals and several records.

Canada lost 7-4 to the USA in the final of the World Junior Showcase in Michigan. Canada was down 6-3 but rallied to cut the score to 6-5 with six minutes left.
