Work on the Fitzroy parkade expansion begins on Monday.
The first phase will see all parking stall lines repainted. The parkade will be fully closed on Wednesday. Those who use the parkade can use the Queen and Pownal parkades or metered parking spots in the downtown.
The line painting should be completed by Wednesday, May 13th and will then be open to the public.
During the expansion project, the parkade will only be open to monthly pass holders and there will be no daily or hourly parking.
Beginning on Monday, Kent St. between Great George and Pownal will be reduced to one lane of traffic. The closure will continue until the expansion project is completed near the end of the July.
All parking fees for May have been waived at the Queen and Pownal parkades. Charlottetown Police Services is also not currently enforcing time-related meter violations.
