The population on PEI is growing at the fastest pace in Canada according to Stat Can figures released this week.
The Island has had a growth rate of 2.2% over the past two years.
PEI’s population will reach 160,000 by 2022 as the target. Immigration is the main driver. More than 2,000 immigrants have arrived here for a fourth year in a row.
PEI’s population was 157,000 in July this year.
