The PEI National Park has lots of activities coming up Saturday with the annual Parks Day when new accessibility mats for Stanhope Beach will also be introduced.
Access Advisory PEI and the Spinal Cord Injury Association of PEI will take part in the launch.
Mats are being placed on the beach to allow people in wheelchairs to access the beach. People using walkers will also be able to enjoy being by the shore.
Also a sandcastle competition with a Canada 150 theme will be held. Registration will begin at 11.30 Saturday morning. Judging will take place at 2.00 and the winners announced at 3.00.
