Driver’s licences will be free as of January 1st.
The Province has announced new incentives for motorists.
The cost to register a vehicle will drop 20 per cent on April 1st as part of new initiatives rom the carbon levy on gas and diesel is going directly back to Islanders.
New and renewed driver’s license fees will be free and will be usable for five years instead of three.
All electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles will be registered at no charge as of the 1st of January and if you own a non-plug in hyrbrid you will pay 50 per cent less to register.
The province will also provide an annual grant to T3 Transit to reduce monthly passes, tickets and coin fares by 10 per cent.
