Charlottetown Police say there has been a recent surge in thefts from vehicles where the windows are being smashed.
Most of the vehicles involved had their doors locked at the time, resulting in the suspect smashing one of the windows to gain entry and steal valuables that were left inside.
Police say not to leave things such as purses, wallets, electronics or other valuables inside the vehicle in plain view. If any items must be left in the vehicle, it is recommended to place them out of sight in the trunk.
