Marwin Gonzalez hit a two-run double in the bottom of the 6th as the Houston Astros dropped the Cleveland Indians, 3-1 and take a 2-0 series lead.
Francisco Lindor gave Cleveland a brief 1-0 lead with a homer.
Astros pitcher Gerrit Cole struck out 12 over 7 innings to earn the win.
ISLANDERS WIN IN SHOOTOUT
The Charlottetown Islanders ended a four game winless streak witha 3-2 shootout win in Chicoutimi in the Q. Lukas Cormier with the winner and the only goal in the shootout.
Liam Peyton and Keith Getson scored in regulation.
The Islander are 3-4-1.
Charlottetown returns home to face Halifax on Thursday night at 7.00.
CAPS MOVE INTO FIRST
The Summerside Western Capitals climbed into first place tie in the Maritime Junior Hockey League North Division as they skated past South leading Yarmouth, 4-2. The Mariners led 2-0 before the Caps scored four in the second. TJ Shea with a pair.
Brodie MacArthur and Sam Meisenheimer added singles.
BADGERS DROP PANTHERS
The UPEI men’s Panthers lost 5-2 to the Quinnipiac
Badgers in exhibition action in Hamden, Connecticut.
Filip Rydstrom abd Chad Labelle scored goals against the NCAA team.
Scott Davidson ofTrail, B.C. had two for the Badgers.
WILD SHUTS OUT MOOSE
Isaac Wilson scored only goal in the second period as the Kensington Wild blanked the Northern Moose, 1-0 in Major Midget. Kensington now 4-1-1.

Winter Blast with Jason Hughes behind won the 12th race feature at Red Shores in Charlottetown in 1.56/1 during the consolation program in the Atlantic Breeders Crown.
Dustylanekazaam highlighted the 3 year old colts consolation winning in 1.57/1 for Corey MacPherson.
Silverhill Missy with Hughes behind won the 3 year old fillies in 1.57/4.
The championship races for trotters and 2 and 3 year old colts and fillies go today with post time at 12.30 at Red Shores.

Concordia downed UPEI, 75-44 in exhibition women’s basketball in Montreal.
