The Town of Montague was back in business yesterday just 24 hours after a fire destroyed the town hall.
Temporary offices have been set up in the basement of the Rural Action Centre on Main Street with the town’s contact information, phone number and email, working as per normal.
The Montague Fire Department responded to a call at 4:35 a.m. Thursday of a fire at the town hall on Queens Road.
When firefighters got there minutes later, the entire roof was in flames and even though most of the structure remains intact, it will have to be demolished.
