The company that owns Northern Pulp in Pictou County, Nova Scotia is quelling rumours that it may consider moving its operation.
Paper Excellence has been subject to protest over its plan to build a pipeline that will spew effluent from the mill into the the Northumberland Strait.
Over 3,000 people protested on July 6th against the pipeline including PEI and Nova Scotia lobster fisherman and the Mi’kmaq First Nations from PEI.
Kathy Cloutier communications director for Paper Excellence says the company will stay.
The pipe into the Strait will replace a lagoon where the effluent is dumped at the present time.
Paper Excellence has put in more than $200-million into the pulp mill since purchasing it in 2011.
