The Island Progressive Conservatives are beginning district nominations across the province in preparation for the next provincial election.
The PC’s say the first nomination convention will be in District 4, Belfast-Murray River this Wednesday.
That seat in the PEI Legislature is held by MLA Darlene Compton.
She says she will re-offer.
PC Leader James Aylward says there is a great deal of excitement among grassroots members of the party and volunteer as they shape the party for the next election which is supposed to be in 2019.
PC President Charles Blue says there is a lot of interest being shown by Islanders to seek nomination in the various districts across the province.
Wednesday’s nomination convention will be at the Belfast Rec Centre with registration at 7.30 in the evening and the meeting itself at 8.00.
Party Leader James Aylward will be guest speaker.
The PC’s also finalizing other nomination convention dates around the province.
