Clifford Lee has made it official, announcing he will not be re-offering as the Mayor of Charlottetown.
He says it was a very difficult decision, but one he has been contemplating for the last few years.
Lee has served 30 years on Council, the past 15 as Mayor. He says it’s tough to pick a highlight from his time as Mayor, but does say there’s some gratification with the new municipal funding formula worked out with the province, and the completion of the new water supply for the City.
Lee says he doesn’t know what’s next, and while he doesn’t see a future in another level of politics, you never say never.
