The Charlottetown Islanders opened the second round of the Q playoffs with a 4-3 overtime victory in Halifax over the Mooseheads. Pascal Aquin scored the winner which was his 7th in the playoffs and 5th in his last two games.
Keith Getson added two goals. Matt Welsh with 41 saves in the nets. Game 2 is tonight at 7.00.
The other quarter-finals began with Blainville dropping Moncton, 6-1.
Acadie-Bathurst over Sherbrooke, 5-1.
Drummondville downed Victoriaville, 4-2.

The Metros improved to 3-1 as they got by Tri-County, New Brunswick, 4-3. The Lynx lost 5-1 to Spryfield, Nova Scotia to go 2-2.
