Belfast-Murray River PC MLA Darlene Compton says the work of the Wood Islands Ferry Task Force should be extended.
Compton says the creation of the Task Force was an important step towards securing the future of the ferry service, but it isn’t the only step required. She says the Task Force can continue to play an important role towards building a strong business case for new investments to improve the service.
Compton says Ottawa’s Request for Information on the ferry service was encouraging but it also creates uncertainty with staff and customers about the future. She thinks the best way to keep the momentum towards a long-term solution is to have the Task Force continue its work.
