Founders Hall on the Charlottetown waterfront will be turning into a downtown market.
The Charlottetown Harbour Authority has signed a two-year deal with developer Paul Madden who owns the property with plans to open an urban market on the main floor.
Les Parsons, chair of the harbour authority says he doesn’t want anyone to get the impression the urban market will replace the weekly Charlottetown Farmers Market on Belvedere Avenue.
The lease has begun and its hoped the market will be open year round, seven days a week.
Talks on the market are just getting off the ground.
Tenants will still have to be sought.
