Opposition Leader James Aylward is pushing for a move to electronic voting in PEI, saying it’s the future and could improve PEI’s already strong record of voter turnout.
Aylward says strategic investments in the proper technology, combined with PEI’s small size, could let the Island be a national leader.
He adds that over 30-thousand Islanders voted online in the 2016 plebiscite successfully without any incident.
