The Island’s chief electoral officer has resigned, effective June 1st.
A news release issued by the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly on Monday says McLeod says McLeod, who was on the job for almost 5 years, is ready to move on to new pursuits.
The government says the legislative assembly will appoint a permanent replacement for McLeod, but no deadline was set.
In the meantime, committees clerk Marian Johnston will serve as acting chief electoral officer.
