Super Bowl 52 is set tonight in Minneapolis, Minnesota as the defending champion New England Patriots meet the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Pat will wear their white road uniforms and have won 3 Super Bowls in those white uni’s. Meantime, Tom Brady named the NFL MVP. He’ll try to break a jinx tonight. Quarterbacks who led the NFL in passing are 0-5 all-time in Super Bowls. Brady led the league in passing in 2017. He’s looking for a 6th Super Bowl ring.

The UPEI women’s hockey Panthers were 4-1 winners over the Mount Allisson Mounties in Pink the Rink Night at the MacLauchlan Arena. Rachel Colle had a goal and assist and was Player of the Game. Two straight wins for the playoff bound Panthers. The Panthers honoured four graduating players before the game including Madison Clarke, Lindsay Johnston, Emma Martin and goalie Megan Sullivan.

The men’s Panthers were bouncedf 9-1 at Saint Mary’s. Anthony Repaci and Jake Coughler had two goals each for the Huskies in the runaway victory. Riley Whittingham had the lone UPEI goal. With two games left UPEI still tied with Dalhousie for 5th place and they meet Friday night in a huge game. UPEI wraps up the regular season facing St.FX on Saturday at home at the Eastlink Centre in the Hockey Day in PEI game.
X downed Moncton, 5-2 and Acadia edged UNB, 4-3 in overtime on goal by Remy Giftopoulous. That puts X and UNB in a first place tie in the conference. They meet in Fredericton on Friday night.

The Moncton Wildcats bumped the Charlottetown Islanders, 6-5 in overtime in the Q. Moncton led 4-3 after 1 period but the Islanders made a game of it forcing overtime. Summerside’s Jeremy McKenna had a goal and assist for the Wildcats. Saku Vesterninen scored twice for the third place Islanders (28-18-4).
Halifax got by Acadie-Bathurst, 3-1. Cape Breton edged Sherbrooke, 5-4 in overtime.
