An update from PEI RCMP with regards to a weekend incident that resulted in an arrest warrant being issued. Shortly before 12:30am on Saturday, Prince District RCMP responded to a report of an assault and gun fire at a gathering in a parking lot in Miminegash. Police arrived to learn that there had been an altercation involving three men, and that one of the men got out a handgun and fired the weapon before fleeing the scene. RCMP say it doesn’t appear that the shots were actually targeted at anyone. Police initiated an immediate search of the area for the man but he remains at large. An arrest warrant has been issued for 28-year-old Mitchell Thomas Lannigan of Milltown Cross. Lannigan is wanted and facing charges for Assault and firearms offences.
