First Ministers Meeting

Atlantic Canada’s premiers are heading to Ottawa next week for a First Ministers meeting. P-E-I’s Rob Lantz says he will be reminding Prime Minister Mark Carney about the federal government’s promise to lower the tolls on both the Confederation Bridge and the Wood Islands Ferry. With the Prime Minister’s recent announcement of a 9 million dollar increase in defense spending, Lantz says he will work with federal officials to identify opportunities for PEI businesses to contribute.  Both Lantz and Nova Scotia Premier Tim Huston say they’ll also focus on the need to reduce internal trade barriers
