The 57th running of the Governor’s Plate presented by Summerside Chrysler Dodge is on tonight at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway
The defending champion is back for more tonight as a 16-dash Super-Card. Twin B Tuffenuff won last year’s Governor’s Plate and will defend that crown tonight. The $50,000 showdown is set for Race 16 . The Card gets underway at 4:00pm today.

Team PEI, preparing for the National U15 boys basketball championship in Durham, Ontario next month downed Espoir, Quebec, 73-56 to open a region tournament in Fredericton on Friday night. Noah Whitty led with 21 points. Will Holland added 17 points and 12 rebounds
A ceremony for the naming of Danny Redmond Memorial Field at. J. Frank McAulay Park on Spring Lane in Charlottetown was held Friday night. Danny Redmond was the Councillor for Ward 2 in Charlottetown from 2001 to 2014. Redmond, who passed away in 2019, played a significant role in renovations to J. Frank McAulay Park, including upgrades for the ball field, tennis courts and a canteen.
