There was a fatal collision Wednesday afternoon on Route 2 in Wellington Centre. East Prince RCMP, Island EMS and Miscouche Fire Department all responded to the two vehicle crash about 3:30pm. Police say the drivers were the only occupants of their vehicles, and a 43-year-old Summerside woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver had to be freed from the vehicle by Miscouche Fire Department and taken to Prince County Hospital with serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing, with the assistance of an RCMP collision analyst.
