Northumberland Ferries says service resumes Thursday after a technical issue with the MV Northumberland, its newest vessel, forced the cancellation of some crossings Wednesday. Northumberland Ferries cancelled Wednesday’s 3:15pm sailing from Wood Islands, as well as the 5:00pm from Caribou and 6:30pm from Wood Islands. There was an issue with the bow visor on the MV Northumberland – which is the large door that moves up to allow vehicles on and off the vessel. The technical issue meant that some passengers who were onboard the MV Northumberland’s 11:45am crossing from Wood Islands were stuck on the vessel for several hours before eventually having to dock again in Wood Islands and disembark.
