Kensington Police say that the Canadian Armed Forces responded to Kensington’s suspicious items investigation Tuesday morning and safely removed two items from Kensington’s Municipal Building. Police say that a WWII-era mortar shell, which was confirmed to be spent and no longer dangerous, was removed. Also removed was a canister containing rocket fuel, found to be half full and still potentially hazardous. As a precautionary measure, the Municipal Building was closed and secured by Kensington Police until the items could be properly assessed by military experts.
