Statistics released this past week show that Prince Edward Island had the fastest growing provincial economy in the country last year, with real GDP increasing by 3.6 per cent. PEI has exceeded national growth in nine of the last 10 years. PEI’s population increased by 2.8 per cent to a total of 178,550 as of July 1, 2024. Employment averaged a new all-time high of 92,500. International exports increased 7.8 per cent to an all-time high of $2.5 billion.
