It’s opening night Thursday for The Cavendish Beach Music Festival, after a kick-off party Wednesday night on the Kitchen Stage. Thursday night’s headliner is Shania Twain and the lineup also includes Josh Ross, Bryan Martin, Sacha, Tony Stevens and The Wild Palominos. It’s a good idea to plan your exit route ahead of time because the RCMP says Route 6 will turn into a one-way road for about 2 hours after each night’s show, from approximately 10:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. If you park WEST of the concert site, you must exit WEST toward Kensington. If you park EAST of the concert site, you must exit EAST toward North Rustico/Hunter River. There will be no 2-way traffic on Route 6 during that time. You can’t drive to the site for about two hours as traffic clears, so if you’re picking up someone, plan a pick-up location well clear of the concert grounds.
