Canada Day celebrations are planned in communities across PEI on Tuesday. Two of the bigger ones are obviously in Charlottetown and Summerside.
In Charlottetown, there are some road closures that will be in place for Capital City Canada Day 2025. Victoria Park Roadway will be closed to all traffic from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. JUNO Award-winner Joel Plaskett Emergency and local indie rock band Two Hours Traffic will headline the Coastal Vibes stage at this year’s Capital City Canada Day celebrations at Victoria Park. There’s a full day of free planned, family-friendly activities, live music and the fireworks display at dusk.
The City of Summerside advises that Heather Moyse Drive from Granville Street to the Water Street Intersection is closed and reopens Wednesday by 4:00 PM. This is to accommodate the set-up AND Canada Day activities. Spinnakers’ Landing businesses remain open during that time. Canada Day in Summerside will be a full day of celebration at the Summerside Waterfront on Tuesday. The event grounds open at 2:00PM with the Official Opening Ceremony beginning at 2:30PM, followed by live entertainment, community programming, and family-friendly activities. Highlights include performances that will lead up to a headline performance by Blue Rodeo at 9:00 PM. The day concludes with a fireworks display at dusk.
